Berry Protein Oatmeal

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

This is one of my favorite things to have for breakfast! It's my go-to for a couple of reasons...

1.) It takes about two minutes to make

2.) it has the perfect amount of carbs, protein, and healthy fats to keep you feeling satisfied until lunch.

The added chia seeds are a great way to get my healthy fats in. Something that I have learned the hard way is that when you starve yourself of any one macro, your body knows and it will start compensating for that loss in some way. It might mean that you're feeling extremely hungry or it might mean that your metabolism slows and you store more fat. If you're not crazy about chia seeds, go for a tablespoon of peanut butter instead:)

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Oats(Coach's oats are my favorite)

1/2 cup Organic frozen raspberries(like these from Amazon Fresh)

Splash of almond milk

1 tsp Chia seeds

1/2 scoop Strawberry protein powder(I like BSN strawberry milkshake)

*Optional* fresh berries on top

Instructions:

  1. Cover 1/4 cup oats with water

  2. Add frozen raspberries on top and cook on high for 90 seconds

  3. Stir the oats so that the raspberries are incorporated

  4. Add a splash of almond milk to cool the oats a bit

  5. Stir in the protein powder

  6. sprinkle with chia seeds

  7. Add fresh berries if you like
